Distinguished Librarian Award

The Distinguished Librarian Award has been established by the Dean of University Libraries, in cooperation with the Association of Librarians of the University of Washington, in the amount of $5,000.

This annual award recognizes a librarian whose contributions advance the mission of the Libraries and the University in the areas of teaching, learning, research, and innovative approaches to practice. 

Librarians at UW Seattle, Bothell, Tacoma, and the M.G. Gallagher Law Library are eligible.

Nominations

The Selection Committee for the 2008 Distinguished Librarian Award is calling for nominations. To submit a nomination, send: 

  • your contact information (including name, address, phone number, and e-mail address)
  • nominee's contact information
  • a short essay (no more than 500 words) describing the nominee's accomplishments and how he or she contributes to the Libraries and to the University.

The deadline for nominations is February 29, 2008.

The award will be announced in May, with a reception held in early June at the Libraries to honor the recipient.
