UW Libraries and UW China Studies Program present Chinese Film Week as part of the ongoing celebration of 30 years of U.S.-China Relations.Award-winning film writer and director Peng Xiaolian will be present to introduce and discuss her films. Screenings and discussions take place on the UW Campus, are free of charge and require no reservations.

The University of Washington Libraries has recently completed a project to identify and preserve the most important early Washington State agriculture, forestry, and fisheries literature in cooperation with Cornell University, Washington State University, and other institutions. The project produced comprehensive bibliographies of Washington State agriculture, forestry, and fisheries books and journals published between 1820 and 1945 (2,323 entries). These bibliographies are now available online: http://www.lib.washington.edu/preservation/projects/washag/index.html

The Libraries-Creative Communications Steering Committee has taken the green initiative to the next level by mandating that all student library and computing lab printers default to two-sided production beginning in Autumn quarter 2009. Additionally, all machines will be utilizing locally produced 100% Recycled Gray's Harbor Paper.

Materials in Suzzallo/Allen Libraries are undergoing a major shift during 2009-2010. To locate materials, view the online updated location of materials, consult signage posted near the elevators, request an item through the catalog or consult libraries staff for the current location of materials.

We'll try to keep this information as up-to-date as possible.

This reorganization and relocation is necessary to integrate materials from collections into the Suzzallo and Allen stacks. Thank you for your understanding and patience!
