The two sisters, Susan and Edith, both moved to a Ghetto in Munkacs, Hungary in May, 1944, to a brick factory which served as a gathering center for deportation. From May 26 until October 31, 1944, they were in Auschwitz; from November 1944 until January 1945, they were in Kurzback near Breslan. In February 1945 they were in Gross Rosen until the middle of Februrary, when, in an 8-day forced march, they went to Sweden. They immigrated to the U.S. in 1953.
